If nothing else on this blog ever resonates with you I pray
that, at least, this will.
Never underestimate the power of praying for your kids.
It is never too early (or too late) to start praying for
your kids. Prayer is probably the most
powerful parenting tool that God has given us, and honestly, probably the most underutilized. Let’s start by taking a moment
and letting the following verses sink in (in the context of your children):
Never underestimate the power of praying for your kids.
Matthew 7:7 ”Ask, and it will be given to you seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you."
Matthew 21:22 And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.
Mark 11:24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
John 14:13-14 Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it
Jeremiah 29:11 “I know the plans I have for you”, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”
God is a promise keeper. Unlike us, His words are never careless. He doesn’t say things He doesn’t mean. So, pray
for your kids. Keep in mind, God is not a genie in a bottle. It isn't about praying our wills into their lives.
It is about praying the will of the Father over them because of our
confidence that His way is the best
way. Remember, the only one who loves your kids
more than you, is Him. It is important
to know that His thoughts are not our thoughts and His ways are not our
ways (Isaiah 55:8), so your prayers may not be answered in the way or
timing that you expect. But, I want to
reiterate here, that God is a promise
keeper. Ask God to give you words and promises for their
lives and commit them to prayer.
If you don’t know where to start, I have included a
wonderful list of ‘7 Specific Prayers to Pray for Your Kids’. Feel free to print this list, and use
it as a starting point. Begin
today. Better yet, begin now. Don’t wait. Set a daily reminder to make time to pray for your kids and wait
expectantly for the God of the Universe to keep His promises!
